In the last few days I've been getting "Blackberry ID" notifications. Is there is a way to turn them off? ..or this a consequence of the bb servers that we have to live with?

No way to turn it off. 02-07-22 01:19 PM Like 0 That's a coincidence - I just started getting them on my Playbook on Sunday for the first time. 02-07-22 03:54 PM Like 0 Thankfully it's pretty easy to just tap on the "waste basket" once to make those go away. 02-07-22 04:08 PM Like 0 Originally Posted by oggabo Thankfully it's pretty easy to just tap on the "waste basket" once to make those go away. Sure, but you'll be tapping that trashcan twice a day, every day. 02-07-22 05:09 PM Like 0Sadly it's another thing that I have to delete but thankfully the BlackBerry Q10 is still quite useable as a phone and as my mobile Hotspot.
02-07-22 06:09 PM Like 0to not "feel" these notifications, I recommend to setup the "hub" in a way that it does not show them. They will be available only in the separate menu of them, not in the list of the hub.
They will be there, but in the separate notifications list, which you generally never need to open. They will not mix up with your emails or sms, so they will not bother you at all.

I don't use "priority hub" (that one is always empty, I probably set it up accordingly), I use only the "hub". And I set it up as I wrote here above. So I don't see these notifications or any notifications at all. Only if I click on the menu called "notifications", but I don't, as I am not interested to see what it's there - I know there are various messages there that are more or less junk (they tell me things I don't care about).

Ok, I think I see what you mean! OK, you set notifications to "show only in separate account" ( or what the English phrase is)

How do you do that exactly? After doing so, will the flashing light for that notification stop activating too?

well.
1) look into the settings of the "hub" - you can set there where the notifications are shown (choose "show only in separate something. ")
2) look into the general settings of the phone, at the point called "notifications". There, you can setup which notifications are shown and how - app by app. (the submenu called "customize app notifications" or similar) / e.G. you can setup the notifications issued by an app like "google maps" ("you need google play etc.") to NOT be shown, and to NOT activate the led. and to NOT beep. Try a bit those things.
It's actually 4 times a day for me.

Yet another annoyance of sticking with an ancient unsupported platform. 02-15-22 07:05 AM Like 0 Originally Posted by m3ach Yet another annoyance of sticking with an ancient unsupported platform. It's not the fault of the phone per se. It's BB's latent configuration with "Blackberry ID". Had that been disabled on the phone before the ID servers went down, then this wouldn't be a problem. But it's annoying that BB didn't provide a means to disable the feature locally.

What do you mean by "wouldn't be a problem? If BBID was disabled, then you would get "enter BBID" notification. If you left it on the device then you will get "confirm BBID" notification. So you're screwed either way, with or without BBID.

I had the impression that BBID was only a consequence of the "Find My BB device" registration. I remember trying that service once, briefly. I was somewhat impressed and concerned that the service could still actually ring my phone when it was OFF!
I still haven't figured out how to establish a separate folder for those BBID messages. It looks confusing.

I have been getting these since I dropped my BBID years ago because I never needed it, never used app world or bbm or anything since about 2018. Just ignore it, the messages go away on their own then come back when a blackberry app (eg BBM) attempts to find its own server (blackberry server which is gone). If you can't delete the app - which you can't because it is built in to the fabric of the phone, then the alerts won't go away. Even "removing" them via sachesi or dbbt doesn't delete them from the phone - you would see this while using dbbt, when you hit refresh, they're still there. Like social connect to facebook etc. You can remove the app itself but not the link to add an account, because that link to add account is tied to the BBID and always searching for the BBID Server that's removed. Even if you go to Device Monitor and close all the app processes, those relying on the BB Server are still listed. Check the BBM one - it is always using cpu trying to find its server. That CPU usage is an alert recognising such and letting you know it can't find it.
It's default notification is a red flashing light. If that bothers you, change all your other apps/contacts notifications to another colour, and when you see red, ignore.

It’s just a turn of phrase, anyway this thread is over two years old now so I suspect most people have moved onto another platform by now if it bothered them that much.
